Does the top stay on the bottle? Do I have to
remove the labels? What do I do with my junk mail? Can I recycle
aerosol cans? No doubt you have questions of your own about recycling.
Get these and more questions answered at the upcoming “Gloriously
Green in Wimberley” recycling event and St. Patrick’s
Day celebration to be held on Wednesday, March 17th between 6:00-8:00
pm at Old Glory Ranch located at 3633 River Road in Wimberley.
This is a free public event.
“We are encouraged by the show of support
for a more pro-active role in our recycling efforts in Wimberley,”
notes Suzanne McCord, Old Glory Ranch owner. “I think everyone
would love to see recycling made easier and this is the perfect
opportunity for them to learn more and speak up with suggestions
of how to make this a reality. We’re spreading the word one
person at a time with the ultimate goal being a Gloriously Green
Wimberley.”
This open forum format will have an informed
panel available to address issues such as the how-to’s of
recycling and composting. Speakers and panel members include Jerry
Pinnix with Hays County, Tim Thompson with King Feed, Meredith Parsons
representing Katherine Anne Porter, Ann Rolling representing Emily
Ann Theatre, Ashton Reis - Recycling Coordinator with IESI, Jan
Allison representing Keep Wimberley Beautiful and Dean Campbell
a concerned citizen.
In keeping with the Gloriously Green theme, attendees
are encouraged to come to the event dressed in green or recycled
clothing.
The growing list of businesses and organizations
supporting the effort thus far include Brookshire Brothers, Country
Fresh Cleaners, EmilyAnn Theatre, Hill Country Accommodations, Hill
